Jon Stewart's Greatest Gay Moments
:
With the writer's strike on in America, TV has become a neglected wasteland of forgotten entertainment.
The first casualty? Comedy Central's The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, which relies on timely news to get their jokes across. Now that its been shucked into reruns, is anyone really interested in political news that happened last week?
Well, maybe... on Slate, Dana Stevens pointed out that The Daily Show would be suffering, except that you can now watch clips from the entire archive on the new Daily Show website.
It's a great idea, though the internet was happier when the clips were ubiquitous on YouTube. At least we have access to five years worth of solid gold.
For example, you can watch a Paul Rudd retrospective, which has a five or six clips of Paul Rudd talking with Mr. Stewart. It's funny stuff.
Or, check out the selection on hip hop starts, with Busta, Wyclef and Ice Cube.
I think I'm sunk for the day. Call me in a couple of hours and remind me to eat something.
On AfterElton.com, they've assembled some of Jon Stewart's greatest gay moments on the show, which is full of priceless interviews.

With right wing author Bill Bennett:
"Stewart challenged Bennett by asking, Isn't Vice President Cheney the perfect example of a socially conservative political candidate? Or in his exact words: "Dick Cheney: Conservative. Draconian. Drinks the blood of puppies."
Bennett reluctantly conceded that to be the case, knowing what was coming. And yet, Stewart pressed, he doesn't oppose same sex marriage. Why is that?
Bennett said it was because Cheney's daughter is a lesbian, as if that made Cheney's views on the issue less, rather than more, informed and relevant.
"Isn't every gay person someone's son or daughter?" prodded Stewart.
Bennett agreed, but didn't seem to think that was the point. After fumbling for a while with some kind of rambling values discourse, Bennett stopped. "This debate is over, Jon."
"Yeah. You lost."

He supports his daughter not because he's a hypocritical conservative but because he isn't one to begin with.
